Most website projects drag on for months. Mine take one week.
That’s not because I cut corners. It’s because I took the waiting out.
When I look at why websites take so long, and trust me, I’ve been on some looooong web design projects, the design is almost never the problem. The biggest problem is everyone is waiting on something. Here’s what usually slows things down, and how I fix it.
Most designers hand you a blank page and say, “just add your copy.” Six weeks later, you’re still staring at it.
Writing about yourself is hard. It’s one of the biggest reasons websites stall. That’s why my Chosen to Be Polished and Chosen to Be Social packages include copywriting. Before your build week, we have a story session where we talk about what you do and why you love it. Then I write every word on your site, in your voice.
Photos, logins, logos, and that “oh wait, one more thing” moment. These little pieces add up fast.
So we gather everything before your week starts. You get a simple checklist, and once it’s done, nothing stalls when we begin.
At a lot of agencies, your project gets squeezed between five others. You’re never quite sure when someone is actually working on it.
During your website week, you’re my only focus. That’s the whole point.
Endless rounds of “what do you think about this?” can stretch a project out forever.
During your week, we have clear check-ins and quick feedback. You see progress, you share your thoughts, and we keep moving.
Monday, we start. By the end of the week, you have a website you can’t wait to share. You also get a video walkthrough so you can make small updates yourself, plus a Small Business Spotlight on my blog (here!) when you launch.
If your website has been on your someday list for way too long, consider this your sign.
Is a website in a week is right for you? Head to my Work With Me page to learn more about my packages.

I build websites in a week for small businesses that are ready to be seen. I design the site, I can write the words, and I can even help you plan your social media.
