Meet Kimberly

I’m a marketer, writer, website designer, and your new biggest cheerleader.

Why you can trust me with your website

I’ve spent 20+ years in travel marketing, working with names like Disney and Universal.

People don’t buy a vacation. They buy how excited they feel about it.

Your customers are the same. Your website’s job is to make them as excited about your business as you are. When they are, I’m doing a happy dance in the background.

Then life got full in the best way, with three kids and my dream job. When that job was eliminated after 23 years, I had to ask the big questions. Who do I want to be?

The answer was Chosen to Be all along. Now I cheer on small business owners and help them fall back in love with what they built.

Then life got full in the best way. I had three kids, my dream job and my dream life, and Chosen to Be was quietly forgotten.

But when my dream job of 23 years was surprisingly eliminated, I suddenly had choices to make.

For the first time in years, I asked myself the big questions. Who am I? Who do I want to be? What do I really want to do?

The answer was there all along, in Chosen to Be.

I choose to use my creativity and passion cheering on small business owners and helping them fall back in love with what they built. I can't wait to help you build a website that shows the world what you've Chosen to Be.

Over 13 years ago, I bought the domain chosentobe.com after attending a blog conference. I knew it would be something someday, but I didn't know what.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about working together at a glance.

How long does it take to build a website?
One week. Once your prep work is in, I design and build your custom website in one focused week, so you're not waiting months to launch. Nobody has time for that!
Do you work with businesses outside of Utah?
Yes. I'm based in Ogden, Utah, and I work with small businesses all across the United States. Everything happens online, from our first call to launch day.
How much does a small business website cost?
A custom website, up to 5 pages, starts at $3,000. Adding copywriting for every page is $4,500, and the full package with a social media planning day is $6,000.
Do you write the words on my website too?
I sure can. If you can't quite find the right words to describe your business, I'll interview you and write every page in your voice. You can also bring your own copy and I'll focus on the design.
What platform do you build websites on?
I build on Showit, a website platform made for creative small businesses. It lets you update your own text and photos easily after launch.
What do I need to have ready before my website week?
Your logo, photos you love, and copy if you just need design. If I'm doing the copywriting, I just need a few answers about your business. If you're not sure where to start, I'll send you a simple checklist when you book.
Will I be able to update my website myself?
Yes. Every website comes with a video walkthrough showing you how to change text, swap photos, and make small updates on your own.
What happens after my website launches?
Your business gets its own feature on my blog to celebrate the launch. You'll also get a video walkthrough so you can make small updates yourself, plus 30 days of support after launch. New pages or design changes after that are quoted separately.
How do I get started?
Fill out the short application. I'll get back to you within 2 business days. If we're a good fit and you're ready, I'll send over your contract. Once it's signed, we'll hop on a quick kickoff call, and I'll send you a simple checklist so you're ready for your website week.
